(July 8, 2025) – A new mural in the heart of Downtown Longview is stopping passersby in their tracks —and reminding them to “Stop and Smell the Pines.”
The new mural was commissioned by Allen Bryson Lamar Law Firm and brought to life under the creative direction of Bright Creative and mural artist, Jill Davis. It is one of the latest additions to the Arts!Longview Cultural District, specifically located off of 211 N. Center St. at Bank Alley.
“This mural reflects the heart of our region — and the community’s love for the outdoors, its agricultural roots, its hunting traditions, and the heritage that makes East Texas feel like home,” said Brent Bryson, a partner with the law firm.
The project represents a meaningful collaboration between local business, creative professionals, and homegrown talent — all rooted in a shared love for East Texas. “Painting murals is a part of my passion – it’s one that I never expected when I dreamed of becoming a graphic designer,” said Davis, who is a Longview native. Davis grew up in Peatown, a small community off of FM 2011, with Bryson’s wife, Libby, who also worked on the project through Bright Creative
“Out in Peatown, we are surrounded by pine trees. Then, and still today, those woods bring me peace, rest, and inspiration,” Davis said. The new mural is among more than 10 murals that grace downtown Longview and the Arts!Longview Cultural District.
“We are tremendously grateful to the local business partners in our community, like Allen Bryson Lamar Law Firm, who support the arts and who work with local artists to create beautiful murals like this that inspire our community,” said Christina Cavazos, executive director of Arts!Longview.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by Bank Alley, take photos, and enjoy the mural as part of the growing Arts!Longview Cultural District scene.
