Spring Break Fun

Longview's blooming with Spring Break fun! Grab the kiddos and get ready for some awesome outdoor activities and exciting indoor events that will make this the best Spring Break ever!

Longview Half and 3.21 Mile Race has become an annual tradition in Longview. It’s a unique race to celebrate our friends in the East Texas community who have Down syndrome. Run it with us! (7:30 to 9:30 am)
See a live performance of Once Upon a Mattress at ArtsView Children's Theatre. This musical version of The Princess and the Pea will leave you thoroughly entertained. (2 pm and 7 pm with a matinee again on Sunday)

Drive In Movie Night at the Longview Mall will include a showing of F9. Dom Toretto is living the quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, but they know that danger always lurks just over the peaceful horizon. This time, that threat forces Dom to confront the sins of his past to save those he loves most. (5:30 to 8:30 pm)

Attend a performance of Crimes of the Heart by Theatre Longview. This play by American playwright Beth Henley is set in Hazlehurst, Mississippi in the mid-20th century. The play won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. Don't miss this production at Longview Community Center! (7:30 pm and a Sunday 2:30 pm matinee)

Gamester's Paradise for ages 10 - 18 at the Longview Public Library will include games outside on the plaza and a Super Smash Bros. Tournament inside the library. (2:30 to 5:30 pm)
Rhythm & Rhyme at ArtsView Children's Theatre is a chance for 8 to 10 yr. olds to learn about the musical elements of poetry and vocal expression through reader's theatre. Participants will use a variety of props and materials. (March 14 - 18 from 4:30 to 6 pm)

Don't miss the first ever Kite Festival! Pack up your kites, lawn chairs, and portable canopy and head to Lear Park Athletic Complex for a day of fun in the sun! Enjoy arts and crafts and local food vendors. Don't forget to bring your sunglasses! (11 am to 4 pm)

Compete at Barley Grains & Knarly Brains Trivia Night at Oil Horse Brewing Company. Expect trivia that keeps your neurons firing while you enjoy cold, craft beer. (6 pm)

Celebrate Hive Five Friday at Longview World of Wonders with $5 admission. Enter to win a free membership throughout the week. You may enter the contest each day you visit. (10 am to 6 pm)
Toes in Motion Hip Hop Dance Clinic for ages 6 to 13 will be at Maude Cobb. Be sure and register early! (10 am to 4 pm)
13 to 18 year olds will love Library After Dark for teens. Play all sorts of games, eat pizza, and play rounds of laser tag. (7 pm to midnight)
Get a babysitter and enjoy Bear Creek-Smokehouse's 21 & over event. The night starts with a live performance by the Blaine Hart Band. Enjoy great music, cold beer, and samples prepared by competing BBQ teams. (6 pm)

Swing by the Longview Public Library for a LEGO-A-THON with raffle prizes drawn every hour throughout the event! (10 am to 5 pm)
View the Student Art Exhibition at Longview Museum of Fine Arts. This show gives students an opportunity to display their artwork within the gallery and compete for top honors and prize money. See pieces in a variety of categories including computer graphics, photography, mixed media, painting, drawing, block printing, sculpture and ceramics. (10 am to 2 pm)
Join Bear Creek Smokehouse for the ultimate family party! There's gonna be live music, plenty of kids activities, and of course, lots of delicious BBQ! Gates open at 10 am. (2 pm competition)
Enjoy incredible live music by Texas songwriter and artist Helene Cronin at Longview Museum of Fine Arts. This concert is BYOB and appetizers. (7 pm)
